Meet the Dey Company

Jake Dey, a Skagit Valley native, began working part time at the Dey Company in 2005 during breaks and summers; however, some of our long-time clients may remember him helping out from his “bouncy chair” much earlier.  In 2008, he passed the insurance exams and became an Insurance Producer writing Life, Health, and Disability.  Jake graduated from Eastern Washington University in the Spring of 2010 with degrees in Finance and Economics.  That summer he became securities licensed, holding the Series 7 and 63.

Jake officially joined the Mount Vernon Rotary Club in the summer of 2010 but has participated and grown up in the club.

He enjoys many outdoor activities such as boating, hiking, dirt biking, hunting, and winter sports.  Jake is excited to help clients pursue their long-term financial goals, cultivate trust, friendships, and build the Dey Company into an even stronger organization.

Nikki Dey, started life in Pendleton, Oregon, spending most of her time participating in competitive swimming.  She started her college career at Eastern Washington University in 2008, with goals of becoming a physical therapist.  There she met Jake and after moving to Mount Vernon in September of 2011, Nikki started working part-time for The Dey Company.  It didn't take long for her to fall in love with the job and clients.  Nikki chose to make a career change and decided The Dey Company was where she wanted to be. In early 2013, she acquired her Life and Disability insurance license.  Since then, Nikki has been filling the role as our Operations Manager, overseeing all happenings in the office.  She is truly enjoying every aspect of the job and hopes to obtain additional licensing in the near future to further expand her knowledge base.

For community involvement, Nikki had the opportunity to coach the high school swim teams for Burlington-Edison and Sedro Woolley.  She has also been able to join the Dey's for various Rotary Service projects.  Outside of the office, Nikki enjoys spoiling her two "fur babies" and loves enjoying the beautiful Pacific Northwest.

Paula Dey, CFP,MSFS, graduated from Western Washington University with a B.A.. in Psychology and a minor in Economics.  In 1989, she earned her Certified Financial Planning (CFP ) designation and obtained her securities licenses. Additionally, Paula is licensed for life, disability and health.  In 1999, Paula earned her MSFS, Master of Science in Financial Services, with an emphasis in charitable giving and, in 2012, earned a Chartered Mutual Fund Counselor degree.  Paula is a member of the Northwest Washington Estate Planning Council,  and served as a  Past President.

A Rotarian since 2002, Paula has been a Mount Vernon Rotary Club Secretary for 6 terms and serves on the St. Charles Parish Council, as well as on the board of the Skagit Community Foundation.  She is a past board member of the Skagit Valley YMCA and ICRS Governance Committee.

Paula’s hobbies include jogging, hiking, and RV travel, so long as that travel doesn't keep her too long from their 6 grandchildren.

Ed Dey,  CLU, ChFC, MSFS, attended UCLA and St. Martin's College in Lacey, Washington.  Ed completed his Chartered Life Underwriting (CLU) designation in 1979, awarded a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) degree in 1983 and his graduate Masters of Science in Financial Services (MSFS) degree in 1999.  Ed has been an active member of the Mount Vernon Rotary Club since 1983, serving as the President 2005-2006.  Ed is a past President of the Northwest Chapter of CLU/ChFC.  Ed has served in the past on ICRS Foundation Board and currently is a St. Charles Board member.

Ed and Paula married in 1968 and have three children, Antonia, Danielle and Jacob.  Ed's great passion is cycling, participating in many century rides, still enjoying 20 mile rides several days a week.  His other hobby is RV travel and exploring wineries.

Tiffany Dow, grew up in Northern California.  She trained horses and gave riding instructions until joining the Navy in September 1999.  She decided to leave the Navy in 2003 to stay at home and raise her two children.  Tiffany’s husband, Pete, was transferred to NAS Whidbey Island in 2009, where they fell in love with the area, and decided to settle here.  She joined The Dey Company in August of 2017 and absolutely loves the job, the clients, and constantly expanding her knowledge.  Tiffany received her Life and Disability Licenses in 2017 and is looking forward to further progression within the company.

In her spare time, Tiffany loves to do crafts and spend time with her husband, two kids, and three dogs.
